Did you come away from RootsTech 2022 brimming with new ideas, and are now looking for more content to connect you with family and temple work? Or perhaps you weren't able to attend the conference and need ideas to help you with your callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

You still have an opportunity to learn from the RootsTech sessions created for Latter-day Saints and other helpful sessions.

Below are some sessions we've highlighted that we hope will provide a well-spring of ideas as you continue to explore RootsTech 2022 resources throughout the coming year.

Draw Inspiration for Your Life and Your Calling

Visit with Elder Ulisses Soares, an Apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his wife Rosanna as they take you to back their native Brazil and show you places familiar to them. They draw you into their family circle with a natural warmth that is both heart-warming and instructional. Don’t be surprised to learn that your history is equally inspiring and worthy of documenting for your family and future generations.
Learn the power and protection that comes from living within temple covenants, including added blessings that accompany taking one's own family names to the temple to do ordinance work. Power and protection are overarching themes throughout the 2022 leadership instruction, from both general authorities and auxiliary presidency members. The short segment discussions are great easy for local leaders to adapt and share with members. As you listen, count how many times you hear "power" and "protection," and ponder what this means for you as you help others engage in family history and temple work.
In a compilation of remarks President Nelson speaks of the goodness of God offering temple blessings and access to all people living and departed. He urges us to attend for peace in a turbulent world.
This video gives an overview of the Church leaders and members responsibilities in temple and family history work as described in chapter 25 of the General Handbook.

Family Tree Resources You Can Use to Fill in Gaps or Make Corrections

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can get free access to partner sites such as Ancestry, findmypast, MyHeritage, AmericanAncestors, and Geneanet. These sites can provide access to more records to research, help you find missing details about your ancestors, and make exchanging information between computer sites seamless.
Identify your unique ancestor and evaluate record hints while building and reviewing your family tree. If you make mistakes or find mistakes made by others, learn how to make corrections, how to collaborate with others, and use notes and documentation to ensue accurate facts about your ancestor.

Fun and Exciting Ways to Involve Your Family, a Class, or a Group in Family History Experiences

This session will help you explore ideas to connect ward members with activities related to family history, working with youth consultants. Check out how to collect stories and engage with members while creating multi-generational experiences with family history.
When the 1950 Census is released, FamilySearch will use dynamic handwriting recognition software to perform automated indexing, and volunteers will then review the indexed records for accuracy. To participate at a personal level, volunteers will be able to search a location and/or surname to help review.
A collection of activities to go with every single week of Come, Follow Me gospel study. The Companion activity ideas and schedule are found in the Family History Guide (an online genealogical resource). Activities suggested are fun, varied, and will enrich family life while learning about the lives of ancestors.

Helpful Tools to Identify Ancestors for Proxy Temple Ordinances

This session will explain how to use the Ordinances Ready feature in the Family Tree App to find reservations for the temple. It works by sweeping your family tree for eligible candidates. Once possible reservations are identified, links in the mobile Family Tree app will show a diagram of your relationship to the person or take you to the person’s profile.
Designed for leaders, this presentation takes a deeper look at the goals and purposes of the Church and brings the power of temple covenants to meetings in ways that will inspire and motivate members to live the gospel of Jesus Christ, care for those in need, invite all to receive the gospel, and unite families for eternity.
An introduction to descendancy research using the fan chart view and filters to show quickly where to focus your research efforts when other views of Family Tree appear to have no holes or gaps needing temple ordinances. Research Suggestions, Record Hints, and Data Problems will identify places to do research for cousins in your Family Tree. Descendancy views of your tree will make obvious places to concentrate your efforts.
