Thursdays 10 am to 2 pm; Saturdays Noon to 4 pm We close on long weekends and at Christmas. Our summer hours vary. Please check our calendar for upcoming open times or closures due to weather. Description of Collections[edit | edit source]Our collection (over 12,000 items) is broad but does have an emphasis on materials pertaining to Alberta, the United Kingdom, Ontario and the rest of Canada. The online catalogue on the library page of our website includes all books and reference material held in our collection. Services[edit | edit source]The public is welcome to come to our library to do genealogy research. Members may sign out non-reference materials for a one-month loan period. History[edit | edit source]Alberta Family Histories Society has been assisting family historians for over 42 years! We welcome anyone with an interest in genealogy. Our programs and resources are of particular interest for those searching for ancestors in the Calgary and southern Alberta area. If you use our online catalogue and wish to view particular items, note the title(s) and call number(s), then send an email to [email protected] to confirm that the material is available. If you wish to bring a lunch, we allow food and beverages. A microwave, refrigerator, kettle and coffee maker are available. |
